Discovering Black Sabbath at the age of 37
One of the business blogs I read is Fred Wilson over at “A VC”. He regularly recommends music worth listening to. The other day he mentioned Black Sabbath Vol 4. Apart from watching Ozzy on the TV and thinking that “Paranoid” is one of the top twenty best songs of all time, I have never listened to any Black Sabbath.
I headed on over to my fave music site at the minute “AllofMp3.

Awwww shucks, Sugar shot Thumper
Poor ickle-wickle Alexa, the bad man fired her.
100 chickens for 100 pizzas? And this woman did Economics in Cambridge?
Sugar fired Karen before this little girlie? Her dazed look during the firing session was priceless. And good old Syed came up with another classic. Sir Alan: “Tell me why I shouldn’t fire you?”. Syed:“Because I’m a winner!”. That is an all time great answer. How do you argue with it?

Drivers in West Cork - This is how a roundabout works:
I hope the National Safety Council don’t mind me infringing their copyright but if publishing these pictures can save just one life then it’ll be worth it. Those lives will be saved by me not killing with my bare hands the next moron who can’t correctly negotiate the “new” mini-roundabout in Bandon.
Just because you’ve driven through that junction the same way for the past 60 years like Col.

What next Sir Alan, the Amstrad C5?
AMS is really dropping the ball recently, isn’t he? How many years did it take him to finally decide to stop flogging a near-dead horse and put a bullet in the em@iler? Was no-one in the company strong enough to tell him it was the best product to come out of a British company since The Royal Carriage and Wagon company decided to compete against the Ford Model T with their new Shetland model, now with automatic pooh collection.

Movie about Rwanda
About a month ago a guy named Eoin Feeley posted a comment on my July post about 07/07. He asked me to highlight two blogs concerned with a new movie about the genocide in Rwanda called “Shooting Dogs” starring John Hurt.
I was a bit suprised that he referred to my blog as political because apart from the odd dig at Islamo-fascists and their apologists, I mainly talk about food!

Interesting Culinary Vacation Tours of Southwest Ireland
I’ve mentioned Podchef Neal who is based on an island off Washington State on this blog several times and he posts quite a few comments here too which are always appreciated. I noticed the other day that he is proposing to organise culinary tours of Cork and the surrounding regions this summer. A large number of my readers are foodies so I’m guessing this could be of serious interest to some of you.

The Grange Tavern - When only a carvery will do (Structured)
Two Saturdays ago, the parents, the kids and I headed off to Clon to go to the playground and then check out Deasy’s in Ring. We have had several recommendations for Deasy’s and I thought a good pub lunch would go down nicely and suit the sprogs too. It was deserted on our arrival and my mother eventually found someone who told her they only do evening meals and Sunday lunch.
