Motorbike Racing Today!
Posted on April 20, 2008, by Conor O'Neill, under Bandon.
It’s that time of year again where men in tight leather pants race up and down the Clon road at Old Chapel on bright yellow motorbikes
We’ve gone down for a look a couple of times over the years and it is genuinely a very exciting event. Noise, burning rubber, unburnt fuel and fabulous bikes. My kids think it’s fantastic and hopefully the baby won’t screech this time.
Now if only the rain would hold off so we don’t have any accidents.

Alas thanks for making me feel very old, Conor. I am 40 years young! I can remember getting into Eason’s each Sat, buying whatever home computer mag was popular, rushing home, spending 2 hours entering the C64 program lists spanning 180 lines of BASIC, typing RUN and getting multiple errors on many lines! I would then spend hours ‘de-bugging’ this program and then…hay presto! I could watch a pixelated ball bounce from side to side on the blue screen!
Now that’s what I call commitment!
