When are the Government, elected by the people, going to do something about this mess (one of many). When the country was overflowing with money they did nothing, now that times are bad we can only expect it to get worse and worse. Soon Ireland will be a third world country with floods every year, next it will be famine relief from abroad as we will no longer be able to produce crops.

That's a fantastic idea Marian. I guess we let the pros deal with the urgent stuff and then everyone could come in for the cleanup?

My heart goes out to all those affected by the floods in Bandon. Is there any plan to undertake a communal clean-up of affected premises, a kind of meitheal, where we could all lend a hand?

Thanks for that tip Mark. I avoided the Kinsale Road as I heard stories of people taking 2 hrs from Cork to there. The wind is building tonight so I hope we're not in for a repeat.

Kinsale to Ballinspittle to Kilbrittan; I know as I came down from Dublin on Thursday night at 21:00, had to backtrack from Enniskeane to the Halfway, as all the crossings over the Bandon river were closed.

Sympathies to all those affected; Bandon traders need our business now more than ever, here's hoping this was not the final straw for some, keep your business local.
