Interesting to hear your feedback Joe. None of our food bore any resemblance to what you’ve described.

But perhaps we had them on a great night and you had them on an off night.

Having dined here I agree it is no way near michelin level ,the food is seriously rough around the edges , I think it is still in the style of the good old stuffing the Irish look for .
The meats and fish are not timed very well either , I agree it is a nice place but the food does lack a little with some unusual flavor combo’s , I think again it is the Irish just loving 8 nice size portions of food and getting a bit too excited because it is cheap .
I really do not feel this is a place for a real foodie as you will be let down ,it is a very heavy
cuisine laden with cream and butter.

Conor, once again many thanks for taking the time to post a great review. We have just returned from a 2 night B&B stay with an 8 course dinner on one of the evenings, having booked spur of the moment on your recommendation. Excellent service, food, ambiance, atmosphere, location, etc. I can say that we will be visiting again, if not to stay then definitely for dinner, even if there is an 8 week waiting list for the restaurant!

Feel I should buy you a pint to thank you, I enjoy reading your reviews. We are 3 miles out the Timoleague road, if your interested, let me know.

Hey, that’s my neck of the woods, or used to be (lived on the Galty’s opposite for 10 years. I was even in Ballyporeen when the Ronster showed up (large black security guard wouldn’t show me his gun, the fecker). I will check it out next time I have an excuse to wander down that way.
