Tesco is the only large retailer that has run out of nappies. It certainly has happened twice that certain sizes were just out of stock.

Then again I was in Mahon Point one day and they had run out of spuds….

They almost never substitute for us. Total pain in the ass.

We don’t have white onions so we’re not gonna bother to give you yellow ones instead. Oh you wanted Clona milk? Sorry only CMP milk here today so we gave you none.

Tesco – the people who take the first “e” and the “o” out of their “every little counts” slogan.

Apparently if they don’t have what you order in stock, they will send you a similar item instead. I heard of someone who ordered a kettle and received a toaster!!

Reminds me of the first and ONLY time I got a home delivery from Tesco when I lived in Waterford. Hadn’t the energy to lug a week’s shopping all across the city so organised the home delivery which I was told would reach my house in Ardkeen likely before I got there (say a half hour).

Some time later that night (have been in the store before lunch) after three phone calls back to the store I got the shopping minus a few bits, some very defrosted food and a driver who wanted to sell me a few mattresses as well.

Go figure.

We’ve been regular users for a while now. Trying to coordinate the 5 kiddies and allowing me to work at home means that big shopping expeditions are rare for us. We’ll be giving it another go next week.

We’ve had deliveries from Tesco too and apart from one or two hiccups it’s been super. Sometimes things would be missing, and one time they were late delivering but when we rang to complain about the missing goods they sent us out vouchers I think.

We’re going to order from them again and it sounds from your update that you’ll do the same?
