I have to say after looking at your review I went pre-pared for the worst, but I have to say I was blown away. We both had, scampi prawn and rustic salad for starter's followed by prawn maincourse for both of us. The food was excellent, perfectly cooked and fantastic stir fry vegtables, boiled potato and the spring roll potato which I have to say tasted devine. We were in the second room, right beside a window, on a table that was slightly big for two people, which was o.k. The service was, and I mean this in all honesty, 5* quality. A young man, recommend our main courses and wine to us and I have to say he picked them with ease, a great knoweledge of the menu and wine, we were never waiting for anything and we never had to ask for a thing either, all our needs were anticipated and catered for, I really think you need to give the restaurant another try, just to be on the fair side, the restaurant truely shone through that night, well done to them. My experience of the G.Campbell/ Bridgestone etc guides are that they would seem to visit a restaurant 2-3 times depending on the situation and then rate the place on an overall level. Howssoever there is no excuse for service like that and the best way to vote is with thy feet and not return. FYI, myself and herself have just moved to Bandon and would have to also recommend the steaks in Sorrento. Great tasting, value and a bird's eye view of every boy-racer doing the main street circuit at nighttime. Great site. Thorough review of Forde’s.
